Source: It is an herbaceous perennial grown for its fruits which are used as a spice. The leaves are lanceolate and dark green in color. It produces flowers on a long drooping panicle and a capsule-like fruit which is triangular in cross section and initially pale green or yellow in color but dries to brown. A perennial, reed-like herb, cardamom grows wild and is cultivated in India and Sri Lanka. It grows up to 4 meters (13 feet) and has long, green silky blades, small yellowy flowers, with a violet tip and a large fleshy rhizome, similar to ginger. Oblong gray fruits follow the flowers, each containing many seeds.Where Cultivated: It is native to India, Sri Lanka, China and also parts of the Middle East.

It blends well with balsam fir, cinnamon cassia, clove bud, frankincense carterii, lavender, lemon, mandarin, orange sweet, pine scots, rose, and spruce hemlock.
DIRECTIONS:
To soothe upsets during car rides or other motion, use Cardamom Essential Oil in a portable diffuser or in an inhaler.
Diffuse in the home with Lemon or Bergamot oils for an uplifting and stimulating atmosphere.
Aromatic - Diffuse using 2-4 drops per 100 ml of water or use in a personal inhaler.
Topical (for adults) - Dilute 2-5% in a carrier.
