Description of Plant: It is a tall, densely tufted perennial grass with a mass of fine, spongy rootlets, light yellow to reddish-brown in color.
Where Cultivated: It is native in Southern India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia and now include Dominica, Haiti, Ceylon, South America, Java, China and Africa.

BASE NOTE: A rich, lingering aroma that develops slowly on the skin; acts as a grounding element for lighter notes that may dissipate quickly.

DESCRIPTION:
Vetiver is steam distilled from the roots of the scented grass native to India and Sri Lanka. Some of its main chemical components are vetiverole, vitivone, and vetivenes.

While vetiver has been used as a perfume base (fixative) for thousands of years, the fact that it is an immunostimulant is less well known. It has mild rubefacient qualities, making it good in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism and muscular pain. The most valuable use of this oil, however, is its ability to relieve stress, anxiety, insomnia and depression. It is a very grounding, stable oil and is very useful when used after a shock or during a traumatic period in life.

Vetiver is grounding, restorative and de-stressing. It is calming and earthy and rejuvenates dry and inflamed skin.

Vetiver is a root oil that is jam packed with therapeutic properties. This oil is known for its abilities to promote relaxation and balance. Vetiver is very popular to use before bedtime to help calm the mind. It has a very strong aroma that has a earthy, woodsy, smoky scent, but is pleasant to the senses.

Vetiver has been used in natural perfumery for years because of its unique aroma and only a little is needed to smell that amazing scent. It is gentle and effective to help skin blemishes, supports a healthy immune system, and a little goes a long way.

It blends well with bergamot, clary sage, cypress, cedarwood, frankincense serrata, helichrysum italicum, jasmine absolute, lavender, lemon, marjoram sweet, myrrh, nutmeg, patchouli, black pepper, petitgrain, rose absolute, neroli, oakmoss, rose, sandalwood australian, turmeric CO2, and ylang ylang.

DIRECTIONS:
Add a drop to your favorite aromatherapy diffuser, personal inhaler, or diffuser necklace and breathe in 30 minutes prior to bed to help calm the mind. Add a drop to your favorite face wash to help fight skin blemishes.

Aromatic - Diffuse using 1-2 drops per 100 ml of water or use in a personal inhaler.

Topical - Dilute 1-3% in a carrier.
