DESCRIPTION:
Citronella is derived from a scented grass. It is steam distilled to produce an essential oil that is yellowish brown in color with a powerful lemony scent. Its main countries of origin include Sri Lanka, Madagascar and South America.

Citronella essential oil’s main chemical constituents are citronellal and geraniol. Because of it germ-fighting properties, it is a great essential oil to use for cleaning any surface.

When venturing into the great outdoors, Citronella essential oil is to blend into a body spray, as it will help to keep those flying pests off your skin! A few drops on pot pourri, in water, on candles or burners is also very effective. Mixed with a vegetable carrier oil and rubbed onto the skin, it will keep mosquitoes from biting.

Lemongrass creates a fresh, uplifting and extremely clean smelling blend.

It blends well with bergamot, cedarwood virginian, geranium egyptian, lavender, lemon, orange sweet, and pine Scots.

When it comes to protecting yourself from outdoor annoyances, Citronella has long been used as one of nature's best barriers. Combine equal parts of Citronella, Lemongrass and Cinnamon Leaf, add to water or witch hazel, and shake, then spray around the perimeter to make your outdoor gatherings more pleasant.

To help promote a clean environment in your home during seasonal illness threats, diffuse equal parts of Citronella and Cinnamon Leaf into the air.

Dilute to 1-3%. Add Citronella to your favorite carrier oil to help with underarm perspiration. Add 1 drop of Citronella and 2 drops of Tea Tree to 1 tablespoon of Coconut oil or aloe vera gel to use on funky toenails that result from being barefoot in shared showers or swimming pool areas.
