DESCRIPTION:
Thyme is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the herb not once but twice to help remove irritating substances in the plant. Some of its countries of origin are the Mediterranean and Egypt. A few of its active constituents are thymol and carvacrol (makes up over 60% of the oil).

Essential oil of Thyme may help to control the proliferation of bacteria and is a digestive stimulant. It is an intestinal antiseptic, making it helpful when treating gastric infections. Thyme is excellent when used against mouth and throat infections, especially when used as an inhalation.

As a urinary tract antiseptic and diuretic this oil is highly valued for treating infections of the bladder or urinary tract. What may be Thyme’s most valuable gift is its ability to stimulate the body’s production of white corpuscles, thereby strengthening the body’s resistance to invading organisms. Thyme is reported to help revive and strengthen both the body and mind and to stimulate the brain and improve memory in much the same way rosemary does. When mixed in with a hand wash, Thyme is a great disinfectant (actually stronger than many washes used in hospitals!).

Thyme is protective and herby. It is freshening for the environment, naturally antiseptic.

Thyme Thymol is one of the very best essential oils for supporting the immune system and for tonifying the circulation. It can be used to help resolve skin problems that may be acquired during a hospital stay. Thyme oil can also be useful in support of a clear respiratory tract; diffuse a drop or two during times of seasonal illness. Like many of the herb and spice oils, thyme can be beneficial for occasional digestive upset.

It blends well with grapefruit pink, lavender, lemon, marjoram sweet, oregano, pine scots, rosemary, and vetiver.

DIRECTIONS:
Thyme Thymol can help aid normal digestion. During an instance of tummy upset, well-diluted thyme (one drop in one teaspoon of carrier) can be rubbed in a gentle clockwise motion on the abdomen. During times of seasonal illness, thyme can be placed in the diffuser (no more than 3 drops) along with rosalina, spruce, or fir needle to help ease congestion and promote better air quality. If you have been hospitalized, once you are home and have been cleared to shower, consider adding 9 drops per each ounce of liquid body wash to help your skin feel free of “hospital smell”.

Aromatic - Diffuse using 2-3 drops per 100 ml of water or use in a personal inhaler.

Topical - Dilute to a maximum of 1.3% in a carrier.

Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. If swallowed, seek urgent care/call poison control. Do not use undiluted.
