Description of Plant: Tropical evergreen tree, 6-9 m. Shiny green, avoid, and leathery leaves. Yellow cluster flowers are tiny, as are the fruit.
Where Cultivated: It is native in tropical Asian and now widely cultivated in India, Jamaica, Africa, Sri Lanka

DESCRIPTION:
Cinnamon essential oil is made from the steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the cinnamon tree. Some of its countries of origin include Sri Lanka, India and Madagascar.
Cinnamon is a warming and stimulating essential oil, making it great for helping to improve circulation when used in a massage oil. (Because Cinnamon essential oil can be a skin irritatant be sure to use only 1/2% dilution for massage). It can be used to help with arthritic and rheumatic conditions (due to the warming action and increase in circulation).
Cinnamon is not an essential oil to be taken lightly. It carries with it antiseptic and parasiticidal properties. In an inhalation or as a room spray, Cinnamon essential oil can help disinfect the air or breathing passages. It is an excellent oil to use as a room fragrance, especially at Christmas time and smells great when mixed with Clove essential oil and Bitter Orange essential oil!
Some of Cinnamon essential oil’s chemical components are eugenol, eugenol acetate, cinnamaldehyde, and linalol.

It blends well with black pepper, cedarwood atlas, clove bud, frankincense, lavender, lemon, neroli, orange blood, orange sweet, rosemary, thyme thymol, and ylang ylang.
DIRECTIONS:
Cinnamon Leaf essential oil has been used for many years as part of a popular cleaning blend.
Combine Cinnamon Leaf and Clove Bud at 0.6% dilution in your favorite carrier oil to help with the aches associated with aging joints. Diffuse in the air to help combat seasonal illness threats.
Add 1 drop to a bowl of steaming water/facial steamer and inhale deeply for 5-10 minutes.
Aromatic - Diffuse using 1-2 drops per 100 ml of water or use in a personal inhaler.
Topical - Dilute to a maximum 0.6% in a carrier.
CAUTIONS:
Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. if swallowed, seek urgent care/call poison control. Do not use undiluted. Avoid eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse with vegetable oil. Do not use if pregnant/breastfeeding. If allergic reaction occurs, stop use and call a doctor. Avoid exposure of applied areas to the sun. Do not use on sensitive, inflamed or damaged skin. For prolonged use, consult a health care practitioner.
SPECIFIC CAUTIONS:
Maximum dilution of 0.6% for topical applications. Cinnamon essential oil is highly irritating to the skin. It is not recommended for massage. High doses can cause convulsions. Use in moderation on the skin as can be irritant. Avoid during pregnancy.
